Claytonia sibirica (Miners’ lettuce) and buttercups, Goldstream Park, BC

The Claytonia shots mark my first ever success with spot metering. I was taking photos with evaluative metering (the default, and pretty useful for most things) which was causing these tiny, delicate flowers to look like blurry, washed out blobs. The background was too dark to be factored in. What a difference focusing the metering on the petals of the flower makes.
