Pylon Lookout, Harbour bridge

Luckily my last morning in Sydney was blessed with clear skies and a free voucher from Louise to go the Pylon lookout. They call this the same view as the bridge climb though probably a bit more sedentary. I did climb a few steps as the pylons are 89m above sea level. There are 360 degree views that were made even better by the recent disappearance of dark clouds and rain. I didn’t think I’d use this voucher. The museum was great- well written bits about the research, tendering, construction and opening of the bridge. It was built as two halves and joined in the middle by relaxing the supporting cables. The bridge has a hinged design to allow for the expansion of the steel up to 180mm if it is a hot day.
