Dunedin: Speights brewery tour

An interesting ramble through one of New Zealand’s top breweries, well Speights is a household name anyway. We saw a complete set of coppers made in the 1930s but now no longer in use. Only the day before, Speights had opened a new brewery in town churning out more batches of beer. Some ingenious engineering went into this brewery- such as a vacuum powered transporter that takes grain from the silo through to be toasted and fermented. At the end we had the chance to pull our own ¼ pints to try each of the six beers on tap: their lager, summit (2nd fave), old dark (fave), IPA, red and cider.
