Last day in Auckland (until late March)

I had the joy of paddle boarding for the first time in a quiet corner of the Viaduct where a couple of dragon boat teams were practicing. The wind came up a bit as it often does in the evening adding a bit of a challenge! After doing a loop on my knees and coming to standing after a failed attempt I realised the draw of it- it’s like walking, or better, gliding on water. And given my unsteadiness (disco legs) it was actually easy to correct a wobble. I think I am hooked.

On Friday morning I saw Albert park and ducked into the newly refurbished art gallery. It’s a gorgeous building with and indoor-outdoor feel. The sculpture garden was a bit more amateurish than show-stopping. It featured photos rather than objects in the round. There were plenty of other galleries I didn’t see and would gladly go back.
